Show Program By Las Yegas Choir Well Received The first of a series of programs on the stake budget, was given Sunday evening in the St. George stake Tabernacle by the Las Vegas stake choir. This is the first group to occupy the choir benches for a program since the Tabernacle was re-opened for servies and the building was packed almost to capacity, many attending from other wards of the stake. I Pres. Harold S. Snow made a brief address of welcome introducing intro-ducing Pres. Bryant Bunker of Moapa stake, choir conductor El-don El-don Larson, and stake organist, Mae Linder Larson, and LaVerna Webb Whipple, the latter three formerly of St. George. In addressing the congregation President Bunker said, "It can never be commonplace to present a program in this historic building, build-ing, filled with the handiwork and the spirit of Dixie Pioneers and church leaders." The program included choir numbers, "Praise Ye the Lord", "Hear Our Prayer", male quartets quar-tets "I Shall Not Pass Again This Way", and "By Bendemyre Stream"; sermon on "Faith", by Darrel Ronnow of Panaca ward who attested the thought that "I believe" the assertion of faith, is the crying need of the world today. to-day. The choir sang, "Seek Ye the Lord", with Nclda Adams soloist. sol-oist. Two violin solos, "Romance" and "Calatina", by Evelyn Jones Gammit; "Fear Not, Ye, O. Israel", Is-rael", by the choir; vocal duets, "Give Thanks and Sing", and "Coming Home", LaVerna Webb Whipple and Nelda Adams, and "Praise Ye the Lord", by the choir. |
