Show Sixty Members, Guests Attend Athena Club Homecoming Party Sat. Tables were set for 60 members and guests of the Athena club at the Arrowhead hotel banquet room Saturday evening where the twenty-second anniversary and homecoming of the club was held. Tables were centered with bowls of chrysanthemums from the gardens of member Mae A. McAllister. Mc-Allister. Roxey S. Romney, 1940 president of the club was toast-master. toast-master. I The dinner program included community singing, a brief history his-tory of the organization by Mrs. Guy Hafen, reading of letters from past members who could not be present; vocal solo, "Friends", by Jos. W. McAllister, with Nemmie Pearce at the piano; pi-ano; vocal duet, Hettie S. Bent-ley Bent-ley and Leah S. Cannon; and responses res-ponses by past members Eva C. Webb, Hurricane, Grace A. Woodbury, Wood-bury, Salt Lake City, Alma McGregor Mc-Gregor and Wanda M. Snow, Provo, Lena Nelson and Mabel Jarvis, St. George. Following dinner two clever skits were presented, "Little Nell" in costume, with W. O. Bentley, W. W. Cannon, H. L. Reid and Walter Cannon in the cast; and "Cynthia at the Opera", dramatized drama-tized by Mr. and Mrs. M. L. McAllister, Mc-Allister, Mr. and Mrs. John Whipple, Roxey S. Romney and Jos. T. Atkin Jr., with Mrs. McAllister Mc-Allister reading. Progressive Rook completed the evening's entertainment. |
