Show Twenty-five Men Turn Out For High School Basketball Teams Twenty-five men are turning out for high school basketball practice, prac-tice, including five members of last year's squad. All the first string; however, were lost, through graduation. This means, accord-ling accord-ling to Coach Hafen, that Dixie j will be the underdog in the division di-vision race this year, several other oth-er teams having strong, tall rangy i outfits. The Dixie men are small and lack experience, but they will be out fighting. Four teams are now engaged in an intra-mural round robin. They are captained by the returning return-ing squad members of last year. jThe teams follow: I Kay Hafen, Stafford Snow, Blaine Fawcett, ElMyrrh Cox, Lorraine Woodbury, Junior Neil-son, Neil-son, captain. Earl Milne, Alpine Prince, Dee j Frost, Harvey Savage, Ralph j Hafen, and Arlo Hafen, captain. Victor Frei, Ronald McArthur, jGlendon Graff, Ben McMullin, Jay Huntsman, and LeGrande Frei, captain. DeWayne Schmutz, Orwin Gub-ler, Gub-ler, Phil Reid, Gilbert Tobler, and Wendell Tobler, captain. In the first round, Tobler's team defeated Hafen's 21-17 and Nielson's squad won from Frei's 17-12. Coach Hafen announces the following fol-lowing practice schedule for his boys: December 2, Virgin Valley at Dixie; December 6, Lincoln county coun-ty at Panaca; December 11, Lincoln Lin-coln county at Dixie; December 12, Payson at Payson; December 13, Provo at Provo; December 14, Tintic at Eureka; December 20, I Beaver at Dixie; December 21, Virgin Valley at Bunkerville; December De-cember 26, Beaver at Beaver. |
