Show Hurricane Julia Whitney Reporter Mr. and Mrs. .Forrest Hunter iot Los Angeles, were visitors at the home of Mrs. -Hunter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. .Homer Englestead during Thanksgiving holidays. Miss Dica Perkins of Cane Beds, was a week-end visitor at the home of Mrs. Martin Sanders. Clarence Perkins and daughter Ina, spent a few days in Cane Beds visiting relatives. Mrs. Verdin Liston and two children returned to their home in Orem, Utah, after a two-month's visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Hall. Lieutenant and Mrs. Edward Usnick of the ' Provo CCC camp spent a few days in Hurricane recently, visiting friends. Mrs. Virginia Adair and son Ronnie, left Friday for an extended extend-ed visit with her sister, Mrs. Emily Hoover of Los Angeles. Mrs. Minnie Harris, Mrs. Jessie Eager and Phoebe Coleman of Leeds, were business visitors in Hurricane on Monday. Mrs. Donald Don-ald Fuller spent ' the day at the home of Mr. Charles Angell, her brother. Mrs. W. S. Coleman and children, child-ren, Sherwood and Deloris, spent Saturday with Mrs. Jose Hoyt Golden' Taylor and brothers, Warren and Kelsey, and Harold Cornelius of New Harmony spent the week-end at Lake Meade fishing. fish-ing. Mrs. Harvey Dalton gave a party Monday evening in honor of her daughter, Jolian, on her birthday birth-day anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Heaton and daughter, Lorraine, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Heaton and two children spent Thanksgiving with Mrs. Genevieve Gubler in Bick-nell, Bick-nell, Utah. The North ward Gleaner Girls and M Men held a fireside social Sunday evening at the home of Vaun Sanders. A large crowd of young people attended, and games were played and refreshments served. Mark . Imlay, who has been working in Los Angeles recently joined the Army and is now in training at March Field, Calif. Miss Cleone Stratton was honored hon-ored on her birthday anniversary Monday evening by a party given by Miss LaMeda Bliss. Fifteen guests were present. Mrs. Lula Tobler and Edwin Stucki of Ivins were Thanksgiving guests of Joseph Wittwer . and family. Florence Imlay and Norma Koch will leave Monday for the winter quarter at Dixie. They both plan to live in the Girls' Dormitory. Velma Jolley and child of Salt Lake City spent the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Lor-enzo Spendlove. Miss LaPrele Isom returned Thursday after a visit with friends and relatives in Los Angeles. An-geles. She was the guest of Mrs. Leah Pierce. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Judd of Fredonia were Wednesday visitors at the home of George H. Isom. They were on their way to Los Angeles. Myrta Wilson, who is employed in Ogden spent the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Spendlove Spend-love and two children spent the holidays in Beaver with her parents. par-ents. Miss Glenna Webb, who is attending at-tending the L. D. S. Business college, col-lege, spent the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Webb. Miss Barbara Hirschi, who is attending the B. Y. U. spent the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Caud Hirschi. Mrs. Pherol Robinson of Three Lakes 1 has been a guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Bliss for the past two weeks. Mrs. Ruby Leavitt and son spent the holidays at the home of Roe Ballard. Mrs. Will Spendlove entertained entertain-ed her father, John A. Spendlove, of Provo and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Archuletta, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Lomquist, Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Lund and Marion Spendlove during dur-ing the holidays. Members of the South ward bishopric, Elmer A. Graff, Emerald Em-erald E. Stout and G. Fenton Whitney spent Sunday in . Short Creek re-organizing the Sunday school and completing the ward census. Monday, Nov. 25, a meeting of all principals of the southern Utah division was held in Hurricane Hur-ricane under the direction of Rodney Rod-ney Ashby of the Dixie junior college, for the purpose of drawing draw-ing up the schedule for the league basketball games. Those present were L. B. Bennett of Parowan, lanthus Wright of Cedar Ced-ar City, G. L. Allan of Kanab, M. E. Maxwell of Orderville, Ezra Ez-ra Tobler of Enterprise, and Supt. Truman Swallow of Kane county and Maurice Nuttall of Hurricane. The junior and senior classes are holding their party at the Dixie Skating rink. The girls are taking basket lunches for two and the boys will draw for the basket and the girl. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Olds of Cedar City spent Friday visiting with Wilma Syphus. |
