Show Funeral Services Held Friday For Edwin Vade Funeral services for Edwin Wade, age forty-two, were held in the South Ward Chapel under the direction of Bishop Harold S. Snow at 4:00 Friday afternoon. ! Patriarch George W. Worthen, the first speaker, spoke on the resurrection, our mission in life and the reward promised the faithful. faith-ful. Told of his long acquaintance Wade family and of the enjoyment enjoy-ment that had come to him through his association with Mr. Wade. He offered words of encouragement en-couragement to the children who are now without father and mother and prayed that the Lord would bless them. James McArthur endorsed the remarks of the previous speaker on the subject of the resurrection and our purpose in life. He told j of the conversion of the Wade family in England and comment ed upon their faithfulness. Pie j urged the children to be prayer- j ful and serve the Lord for "He : will never forsake them." Bishop Snow told or the work the family had done in the Ward and expressed his appreciation for them. Tribute was paid by him to the work of Mr. Wade, who has, he said, been wonderful to his wife and children and kept a spirit of love in the home. He closed by thanking all who had helped the family in any way. Dr. W. J. Riechmann spoke of his association with Mr. Wade, especially since his illness. Dr. Reichmann refered to the suffering suffer-ing Mr. Wade had endured and hnw his chief concern thrnup-h it all had been for his children. Dr. Reichmann advised all to be kind and considerate of those who are in trouble and to help them in every way possible. He closed by praying that the Lord would bless the children and members of the family at this time. Interment was made in the city cemetary, the grave being dedicated dedi-cated by Gordon Mathis. ; Prayers were offered by William B. Bunting and George Brooks. Musical numbers were a vocal trio, "Whispering Hope," by Alice Cannon, Melba Baker and Ruth Miles; violin solo by Irene Everett; vocal solo , "Prayer Perfect", by Josephine Spilsbury and a vocal duet "One Sweetly Solemn Thought", by Ruby Morris and Nellie Bringhurst . |
