Jay Hinton and Leslie Stratton have been singing Old Time Favorites each day last week at 11:00 a.m. over K.S.U.B. at Cedar City. They precede all announcements announce-ments concerning the Home coming com-ing and Bridge Celebration. Lloyd Sandberg. Bill Smith and Elton Stout will leave on Thursday Thurs-day for Kansas City to join the All American F.F.A. band. The W.P.A. workers under the direction of Mrs. Mina Atkin have canned in the last ten day period one thousand two hundred and twenty-three cans of tomatoes, beans, corn and apples for school lunches. The North Ward Relief Society is preparing to sell plate and box lunches at the elementary school lunch room on Bridge Day. They will also have booths in front of their chapel on Main street from which they will sell ice-cream, pop-corn, home-made candy and ' novelities. Neils Sandberg, resident of St. George celebrated his eighty-, seventh birthday anniversary on October 12 at the home of his son, Chauncey Sandberg. Mrs. Lucille Gubler reported on the life of Amelia Earhart Put-man Put-man and Mrs. Eleanor Reusch discussed dis-cussed the life of Madame Marie Curie at the Alice Louise Reynolds club held Friday, October 9, at the home of Mrs. Katharine Larson. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hirschi of Rosetti, Utah spent the last week visiting at the home of his cousin, David Hirschi. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Graff and family visited over the week-end with relatives at Boulder City and Bunkerville, Nevada. Emma Jean, three (year .old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Freil Strattin was taken to the L.D.S. hospital at Salt Lake City to receive medical attention. The Southern Utah Power company com-pany will illuminate the Hurricane-La Hurricane-La Verkin bridge on the night of the bridge celebration, reports George Grimshaw, local power company manager. The Sumption Construction company com-pany arrived Monday to begin the oiling job on the Berry Springs road into Hurricane. |
