Show Preparations Made For Big Influx Of Out-Of-Sf af e Hunters For Deer Season With deer season opening next Wednesday, local merchants, deer camp operators and game officials are preparing for the big influx of hunters that are expected here for the annual deer hunt , from October 20 to 30 inclusive. Local hunters have been shining shin-ing up their guns, and bullets and taking a few practice shots to get their "hands and eyes right." Indications are, according to forestry and game officials, that this should be a good hunt with the deer in good condition and plentiful. Warm Weather Unless the weather makes a sud-ren sud-ren change between now and Wednesday, Wed-nesday, hunters will have warm nights. Usually the nights are getting quite snappy by this time, but this year the weather has stayed very warm. Hunters are urged to go prepared for colder weather, not only because it is colder in the higher altitudes, but because there is liable to be a sudden change. Guns are at a premium with everyone who hasn't one trying to secure the use of one and with most hunters having lined one out many weeks ago. Firemen's Ball Local people are urged to dig out their overalls, gingham dresses and aprons and attend the Firemen's Fire-men's ball which is to be held next Monday night in the recreation recrea-tion hall. This ball, which the firemen hope to make an annual affair, is held to provide entertainment for local people, and deer hunters and to raise funds to assist in buying necessary equipment for the fire department. Fun makers of all kinds will be on hand to make this one of the best dances of the year, declare de-clare those in charge. The advance sale of tickets indicates that there will be a large crowd of local people present and in addition to this the committee hopes to have many deer hunters attend. |
