Show St. George Voters To Select Tickets Tonight St. George voters are meeting tonight in the Dixie college auditorium audi-torium to select two groups of candidates to be presented on the city ballot on November 2. The plan to be presented at the meeting this evening will do away with the two party tickets known as Democrats and Republicans and will present candidates from both groups on the same ticket. Those advocating the plan state that it will enable the voters to have a better chance to select the best man for the position. They point out that in some cases either the Democrats or the Republicans (Continued on page ten) Voters to Select Tickets (Continued from first page) might have two men that would be better material for a certain position than the other party and by combining the groups the citizens of the community will be better served. This plan is not expected to be used other than in the selection of city officials. Make It Legal In order to make this legal, City Attorney, Orval Hafen, explains that it is necessary to secure fifty signatures for both tickets. For this reason party leaders urge that a good attendance turn out to back the candidates and to help select the best individuals possible. |
