Show Bunkerville, NeY. Mrs. Mary II. Leavitt RKrter Mr. and Mrs. D. Henry Leavitt received an announcement of a granddaughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Dudley M. Leavitt of Boulder City on April 23 in the Las Vegas hospital. The first year 4-H clothing club was organized Wednesday, April 10. Those in charge are Mrs. Ruby Leavitt and Mrs. Charma Murry. The girls have named their club, "Busy Stitchers". Those enrolled are Jewel White, president; Drexel Adams, vice-president; Mary Lynn Leavitt, secretary; Lorna Hunt, chairman; Helen Adams, reporter and June Leavitt, yell leader. The Bunkerville Chapter of the FFA was awarded the sweepstakes sweep-stakes cup for outstanding work at the state convention in Reno, April 18. Members of the chapter who received the cup were Orley Waite, Clair Hughes, Art Strasser, Cloyd Tobler, Brent Walker, with Donald Tobler as instructor. Albert Hafen has been sick the past week and was taken to St. George to the hospital for treatment treat-ment Monday morning. He was thought quite seriously ill so all his children were summoned on Sunday. Those who came from outside towns were Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hafen of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs LaRue Emmett, of Enterprise; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Chatham, of California; Hazel Hafen, of Las Vegas; Luther Hafen and family of Mesquite and Oak Hafen of northern Nevada. His condition is somewhat improved improv-ed at present it is reported. Elmer Leavitt was taken to the Las Vegas hospital over a week ago and it is now reported that he has pneumonia and is seriously ill. His mother, Mary Ellen Leavitt and sister, Leah Tobler went to visit him on Saturday. Mrs. Tobler returned home but his mother is still in Las Vegas to be near him. Herman Larkin and Jack Leavitt of St. George are installing install-ing bath fixtures in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Adams. |
