Show Scouts From Five Troops Of Snow's Canyon District Attend Camporee Scouts from five troops of the Snow's canyon district of the Utah National Parks council enjoyed en-joyed their annual spring camporee Friday and Saturday at the head of the Cottonwood. There were 102 boys and men present from St. George, Santa Clara and Washington. Camp was constructed late Friday Fri-day afternoon, and after supper a campfire program was enjoyed. B. Glen Smith was the story teller of the evening and led in community com-munity singing. At the court of honor ceremony, Star awards were made to Dayne Mathis and Donald Cannon of troop 401, Donald Judd and Frank Church of troop 403, and Chester Snow of troop 402. I Merit badge awards were made to Dayne Mathis, Donald Cannon, Kent Reber, troop 401; Paul Thompson, Dick Schmutz, Chester Snow and Dick Miles, troop 402; Donald Judd, Frank Church, El-Myr El-Myr Cox, and Willard Cannon, troop 403. Marvin Cannon of troop 403 was awarded second class rank. The program Saturday was cut short by a heavy fall of snow. Immediately after breakfast camp was broken and the trek homeward home-ward started. The program was in charge of W. C. Cox. camping chairman, and Leo G. Smith, activities chairman. |
