Show Walter K. Granger Announces Candidacy Supporting the political and' social reforms of the Roosevelt Administration, Adminis-tration, Walter K. Granger, member mem-ber of the Public Service Commission, Com-mission, has entered the race for the Democratic nomination for Representative in Congress from the First Utah District. A native of St. George and resident of Cedar City since he was six years old, Mr. Granger has played a prominent role in the political, civic, religious and educational life of Southern Utah. A farmer and livestock man, he first gained political recognition as Mayor of Cedar City, a position to which he was elected three successive times. Then followed three successive elections to the State House of Representatives, the first in 1932. In 1935 he was chosen Speaker of the House. Following the close of the 1937 session, Mr. Granger was appointed a member of the reorganized Public Service Commission, Com-mission, formerly the Public Utilities Commission, by Governor Henry H. Blood and has served in that capacity since. |
