Show MEWS OF THE COUNTY SEAT Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Banta were business visitors in Las Vegas last week-end. Mr. Banta, who has been connected with the Standard Oil station here for some time has been transferred to Las Vegas and wiU commence work there February 15. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Kunz returned re-turned Sunday from a visit in Salina and other northern Utah cities. They were accompanied home by Mrs. Tolton, who has been visiting in Salt Lake the past two weeks. 8 Mrs. James Price, who has been receiving medical treatment at the local hospital for several days returned re-turned to her home at Pioche, on Sunday. Her husband spent the week-end visiting here and accompanied accom-panied her home. The following have been discharged dis-charged from the local hospital during the past week: Mrs. Omer Bundy and infant son, Mrs. Morton Mor-ton Morris, Mrs. Dalice Hartman of Leeds, Mrs. Leah B. Jolly of Veyo; Mrs. Walter Ruesch, of Springdale, William Esplin, of Hurricane and Joe John, of the Veyo CCC camp. Mr. and Mrs. Brigham Jarvis were called to Hurricane on Monday Mon-day because of the illness of Mrs. Jarvis' neice, Miss Uarda Knight, who has been very ill with the flu. She is getting along nicely now. Mrs. Ethel Badham of Salt Lake arrived here Monday to visit her daughter, Mrs. R. N. Ashby. j Woodrow Church of Escalante was visiting relatives and friends in St. George last week. The Southern Utah Power company com-pany this week completing the power line along Back Diagnal street which will mean the lighting light-ing of more homes. This has been a project they have considered since the building of the new homes on the Red Hill north of town and it is a benefit to the community. Mrs. Vivien Andrus entertained the Triple K club at the home of Mrs. Charles Andrus on Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon. Bridge was played, high score prize being awarded to Mrs. Juanita McQuaid and second prize. to., Mrs. Evelyn Bleak.- Refreshments Re-freshments were served to Mesdames Mes-dames Cleo Nelson, Ina Mae Bracken, Eula Andrus, Ruth Milne, Meriam Milne, Irene Bentley, Mary Graff, Anna Cox, Grace Mathis, Juanita McQuaid and the invited guests, Mrs. Evelyn Bleak and Mrs. Cleo Pectol. Mclntire, formerly of Price, who are spending spend-ing a few weeks with her brother, James Cottam and his family in Veyo, spent Sunday visiting relatives rela-tives and friends in St. George. Mrs. Marie Booth entertained the K.Y.B. club at her home last Thursday afternqon. Rook was enjoyed en-joyed and prizes were awarded to Mrs. Idonna Webb and Mrs. Lottie Cannon. Refreshments were served to ten members. Miss Carma Cottam left Sunday for Parowan to spend some time with relatives. jj. jg, Mrs. Claud Thompson spent last week in Salt Lake City visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Boyden Peterson and Mrs. Howard Arns and other relatives. A midnight turkey supper was served to ten couples at the home of Miss Jennie Wadsworth last Friday evening, the occasion being her birthday. The group had attended at-tended the basketball game and dance at Hurricane earlier in the evening. ' . " Mrs. H. Val ,Hafen and Mrs. Leland Hafen entertained a few friends and neighbors at the home of the former on Monday evening at a dinner party. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Pax-man, Pax-man, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Prince, Mr. and Mrs. Karl E. Fordham, Mr. and Mrs. H. Val Hafen and Mr. and Mrs. Leland Hafen. Gordon Mathis, James Andrus and Rulon Pectol were week-end visitors in Salt Lake City on business busi-ness connected with the Mathis Market. Mrs. Ada John and infant daughter, of the Shivwits Indian Reservation, entered the local hospital hos-pital last Thursday to receive medical attention. . . Dr. D. A.
