Show Chauncey Sandberg Honored By Sixty Friends i HURRICANE, Utah A party honoring Chauncey Sandberg, who recently resigned as Superintendent Superinten-dent of the Hurricane South Ward Sunday School, was held Thursday evening in the recreation hall of the Stake building. Sixty members of the Gospel Doctrine department were present to show their appreciation ap-preciation of the faithful work done by Mr. Sandberg in the eight years that he has headed the ward organization. Mr. Sandberg gives as his reason for resigning: added responsibility in his stake capacity as a member of the High Council. A short program, games and dancing to the music of the Swing Kings made up the evening's entertainment. en-tertainment. The program was as follows: vocal solo, Mrs. Lillian Workman; comet duet, Owen Burgener and Lafayette Staheli; violin duet, Barbara Tweedie and Aleath Dalton ; clarinet solo, Glen M. Webb; remarks from Bishop Ira Gradshaw and Mrs. Sandberg. In conclusion Frank Barber, stake supterintendent of Sunday schools, presented, in behalf be-half of the Gospel Doctrine Class, Mr. Sandberg a beautifully bound volume of the Book of Mormon, with the recipitants name engraved engrav-ed upon the cover. Fenton Whitney, first counselor to Mr. Sandberg, was sustained January 31, as Ward superintendent superinten-dent of Sunday school, with Walter Workman and Lafayette Staheli as his assistants. |
