Show ; Hurricane Miss Milda Isom i Reporter Mrs. James S. Judd has been i visiting for the past week with her parents at Provo, Utah. Misses Elaine Sandberg, Barbara Barb-ara Hirschi, Avonell Reber, Ora Hirschi, Roma Reber and Genevieve Gene-vieve Isom enjoyed themselves , very much at a' wiener roast and hike Monday night. ; Mrs. Gene Hales and family 1 have been visiting at Springdale, ! Utah with her parents. Mrs. D. A. Gibson has returned , to Hurricane from California. The ! Gibsons are now renting at the home of Garth Sandberg; they in- tend making this their place of residence for the summer. A large number of people from Hurricane attended the Memorial Day program given at Zion Park last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Bradshaw and family of Cedar City have spent the past week at Hurricane on a business trip. They have also been visiting with Mrs. Bradshaw's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Woodbury. The Ladies' Literary club met last Friday, May 28 at the home of Mrs. Josephine Sandberg. Mrs. Sandberg and Mrs. Artie Reeve served as hostesses. The program consisted of an address on personality person-ality and a book report given by Mrs. Rhoda Prince. The Zion Park stake Primary board gave a farewell party Monday Mon-day evening at the home of Mrs. Mina Hinton in honor of Mr. and Mrs. James Jiu.- who are to leave shortly on a two-month's vacation trip to Europe. Refreshments were served to about thirty guests. Leon Sullivan had the misfortune misfor-tune of being the victim of an auto accident. His legs were badly injured in-jured but he is improving rapidly. The county commissioners were at Hurricane Tuesday. Their business busi-ness was pertaining to the settlement settle-ment of taxes. Glenn Williams returned Sunday from Salt Lake City where he has had his small daughter under the doctor's care. Some time ago she had her leg broken and a silver plate put into her leg. An operation oper-ation was performed at Salt Lake City and the plate was removed. The physicians announced that the operation was a complete success. The child is improving rapidly. The various Bee Hive classes of the stake held their annual Swarm Day and graduation exercises here last Tuesday evening. The mothers of the girls were invited as special guests. David Conger returned from a visit with his older children at Las Vegas. He is feeling much better since his operation. Mrs. Hazel Walker and family of Caliente, Nevada are visiting her mother, Mrs. Josephme Faw-cett. Faw-cett. George Gibson has returned from the Cedar City hospital and is feeling better than he has for months. Miss Kate Isom, who has been teaching school at Modena for the past year has returned home. Bert Adams has gone to Ogden to seek employment. He is also : visiting his sister. I Dean Clark returned from a ! business trip to Salt Lake City. While he was in Salt Lake, he purchased a new car. Miss Ruth Spendlove has spent j the past week at Cedar City where . she has been caring for the child-, child-, ren of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Petty j who were vacationing in Calif-1 Calif-1 ornia. Keith Tobler, Hurricane's new ! barber is now building a barber ; shop joining the new cooperative store.
