Show St. George Boys Form 4-H Forestry Club A 4-H Forestry club was formed at a meeting held last Friday evening even-ing at the home of Jay SeegmiUer. The meeting, the first forestry club meeting here, was under the direction di-rection of Evan Earl. Officers were as follows: Elmer Pickett, president; Leslie Ashby, vice-president; Harold Ha-fen, Ha-fen, secretary-treasurer, and Wil-mer Wil-mer Kemp, reporter. A few girls have taken up interest in-terest in forestry work and will work with the boys in the club. On Tuesday the club went to Pine Valley to collect specimens of plants, mainly the poisonous var-ities. var-ities. Prof. Whitley Floyd of Logan, Lo-gan, Utah accompanied the club. He assisted in gathering the plants, naming the ones that were gathered. gath-ered. Anson B. Call, county agent, also went with the group. It is planned to take many similar trips during the summer to places where new and different specimens may be gathered. |
