Show J. M. Redd, Former Resident of Dixie, Dies Monday's Deseret News contained contain-ed the obituary of J. M. Redd of Montecello who died at that place recently. He was formerly a resident resi-dent of Washington county. He was born at New Harmony August 3, 1863, a son of Lemuel and Keziah Butler Redd. He went to San Juan county with other settlers in answer to the call for a settlement by the church leaders lead-ers when he was 16 years of age. He became a leader in that section sec-tion and was prominent in church affairs, having filled a mission and served in the stake High Council, as well as filling many other important im-portant positions. Besides his widow, Lucinda A. Pace to whom he was married in the St. George Temple he is survived sur-vived by six children, Isabelle. J. W., and R. V. Redd of Monticello; J. M. Redd Jr., of Provo; Mrs. Oscar W. McConkie, Alta and Hor-tense Hor-tense Redd of Salt Lake. He is also survived by nine sisters and three brothers. |
