Show Reid Presents Illustrated Lecture at Rotary Club H. L. Reid, teacher at the Dixie college and park naturalist at Zion National park, during the summer, presented an illustrated lecture at the regular meeting of the St. George Rotary club on last Friday in the Arrowhead hoteL Mr. Reid used colored slides around which he wove an interesting interest-ing lecture of Southern Utah, its early explorers and settlers. Some very fine pictures were shown by Mr. Reid of the various scenic attractions of this section, its historic his-toric spots and its people. In describing the parks he said: "Bryce Canyon is best described as being 'femine', Grand Canyon, 'awe-inspiring1 and at Zion, 'one feels at home', due in part to the closeness of the walls and that one is down in the canyon. Attention was called by him to the fact that this section still has many things of outstanding in-terest in-terest that should be preserved. |
