Show Indians Win Horse Shoe Pitching Contest Here Sat. The Indians almost made a clean sweep of the horse shoe pitching contest held in St. George on last Saturday, under the supervision super-vision of the WPA Recreational leaders. Rex Mociac and Woods Parashaunt were the winning team, while Stewart Snow and James Yellowjacket took second place. Paul Seegmiller and Joseph Simmons of St. George barely nosed out the other Indian team. Sixteen teams with 32 contestants con-testants took part in the contest, with teams being here from Springdale, Virgin, St. George and the Indian Reservation. Over 150 spectators crowded around the. contestants to cheer or jeer them on. It is reported that only by "super-human" ef-rorts ef-rorts were Seegmiller and Simmons Sim-mons able to keep the Indians from walking away with all of the laurels. |
