PRICE Nine Local Delegates Attend The 2-Day Session In Salt Lake Q'y The selection of Anne R. Price of St. George for the 1939 president, of the state organization ot Business and Professional Women Wo-men comes as a distinct honor-not honor-not only to Mrs. Price, but to the local club and to this entire section of Utah. This is the first time this special honor has been permitted to get farther south. than Provo, and quoting the state papers, "Mrs. Price was elected entirely without opposition". The nine local delegates who attended at-tended the state convention werei Anne R. Price, former state first vice-president; Alice Pendleton, newly elected local president; La-Vera La-Vera McArthur, past local president; presi-dent; LaPrele Snow, treasurerr. IJetta Snow, local vice-president Lena Nelson, Lena Besendorfer-Roxey Besendorfer-Roxey S. Romney, and Hannah CL Pike. They were joined at Prova by Mary McGregor, who sang before be-fore the convention as the pro, gram contribution of the St . George club and states Mrs. Price, "she won the hearts of the convention con-vention audience". Her assistance is appreciated. (Continued on page ten) Mrs. Price Elected (Continued from first page) Price, and when the presentation was made of the accomplishments of the various clubs of the state throughout the past year, the local group were happy to find their organization keeping almost neck and neck with that of Salt Lake City and with other larger groups. They plan to carry on and even to make progress during the coming year, and feel even a greater desire to achieve, with one of their members in high position, say the local officers. Her election as state president entitles Mrs. Price to attend the National convention which will be held in Kansas City, Mo., July 9. |
