Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Johnson left Monday for Salt Lake City, Mr. Johnson having been transferred from the employment department connected with Dixie junior college col-lege where he has been located for several months, to similar work in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Hirschi were St. George visitors from Rockville on Monday. Mrs. William Osborn of Richfield Rich-field spent Saturday and Sunday in St. George visiting her grandmother, grand-mother, Henrietta Morris and other relatives. Mr. Osborn remained re-mained in Cedar City. Another of Mrs. Morris' granddaughters, Miss Dixie Foster, now of Salt Lake City will leave the first of the year for Washington, D. C, where she will be stenographer for recently elected senator Walter Wal-ter Granger. The marriage of still another granddaughter, Emma Jeane Foster to Konrad Merrill Krause will take place in Salt Lake City Dec. 15. All three are sisters and are the daughters of Junius and the late Jessie Morris Foster, formerly of Cedar City. Saturday's Deseret News society so-ciety section carries announcement announce-ment of the marriage of Miss Barbara Madsen to Alton Byron Oviatt, which took place in the Manti Temple, Friday, Dec. 6. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Madsen of Manti and the groom a son of the late Mrs. Rhoda R. Oviatt of Hurricane. The couple will reside in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Frehner motored up from Littlefield Saturday Sat-urday to visit with Dr. and Mrs. P. E. Harris. Miss Gertrude Frehner returned with them to visit over Sunday. , Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Knowlton of ' Richfield, left for Los Angeles last Thursday where they will spend a short vacation. They were in St. George to attend the funeral fun-eral services of their nephew, Percy Jack Riding. Miss Laura Riding, sister of the deceased, returned re-turned to her employment in Los Angeles Sunday morning. Mrs. Fred Riding was hostess to members of the O. N. O. club at her home last Friday evening. Rook was the diversion. Miss Caddie Whipple returned to her employment at Las Vegas Monday after spending several days with her mother, Mrs. May Whipple. Mr. and Mrs. Levi Atkin returned re-turned to Bull Valley Saturday to complete the painting on a deer hunters' lodge which Mr. Atkin has been erecting for California' hunters who come to this section sec-tion annually for their venison. Miss Merlene Whitehead entered en-tered the local hospital Monday for surgery. |
