Show ROTARIANS HEAR RED CROSS NURSE in a talk given to the Rotar-ians Rotar-ians at a Luncheon Friday March 2, by Miss Kritz, Red Cross Nurse, who is conducting a three months Public Health Nursing service in Washington County, told the Rotarians how her three months service in the county was made possible. It was financed fin-anced as follows: $105.00 Washington Wash-ington County Red Cross Chapter; $100.00 Washington County School Board plus supplies; $50.00 County of Washington; $40.00 other small agencies and $255.00 from the Delano Fund, a Federal Fund used for Public Pub-lic Health Nursing and Home Hygiene classes. Miss Kritz's first project was the inspection of all the school children in Washington County, numbering 2,114 pupils, inspected. inspect-ed. Defects found were, 730 pupils with dental defects; 39 2 pupils with large tonsils needing the advice of the family physician; physi-cian; 175 with defective vision; 22 with enlarged thyroid, also 993 found successfully vaccinated.! After this survey had been ' made the C.W.A. medical relief! made it possible to have 23 cases j of defective tonsils removed and 76 pupils given dental care in j one month. The same number! lined up for march. Other cor- j rections have been made in the i the county, privately, by parents themselves and with the help j of the P.T.A. Student Aid fund that has been started in some of, the towns in the county. i Miss Kritz spoke briefly on a j class in Home Hygiene and Care of sick she is giving to twenty-two twenty-two High school and College students all getting a Red Cross Certificate if eligible and the High School students getting in addition to the certificate M unit credit. Milton Moody and the Principals of the County schools also the keen interest of every citizen ir the county. Mliss Kritz finished by saying that she hopes a similar service can be arranged in the county foi the next year leaving the though' that . the people of Washingtor County make plans to have thi-s project repeated if they felt it "T3 a rervice worth while. Wayne Mclntire of Price spent last Wednesday and Thursday visiting here while en route home from the Swiss German mission where he spent the past three years.
