Painting screen doors and win-lows. win-lows. Painting fences 'Cleaning and rearranging cellars, cel-lars, . Fertilizing gardens and lowns. ' Plowing gardens. ' Planting gardens for family supply. i Planting flowers and lawns. Feeding rose roots for iron. Pruning trees and planting new ones. Laying plans for fall flower ishow. J- Cleaning sidewalks and street 'in front. ' Destroying cottonwood trees. Suggestive trees: Non- bearing bear-ing mulberry, ash, chinaberry. Siberian elm, honey locus, hardy 'catalpa. Laying cement or gravel walks. Giving children some plot and supervising. Repairing and painting family car. Neatly arranging wood pile. Digging, out unsightly trees and bushes. Building trelises. Plant Dixie Specialties: Figs, walnuts, almonds, pomegranites, grapes, roses, ehryseanthemums, pampus grass, verbenias, petunias, petun-ias, etc. - Cooperate .with neighbors in mutual problems. A standard will be set and names will be published. Woodward School and Dixie College will run theme contest on beautification. A committee is being formed and each civic and church organization organi-zation should cooperate with them. This group, will map out the work detail under the direction of the P.T.A., The names of those who are members of the committee will be announced in next weeks' issue of the News. Leaderse in this movement point out that all the above suggestions and effort will not do any good unless everyone enters into the spirit of the campaign and helps in every way both on their own property and on the city projects. |
