Show GOVERNQR APPOINTS ADJUSTMENT GROUP The governor of the state o.' Utah, in line with the government govern-ment program, appointed coin-j coin-j mittees in the several counties called the "Farm Debt Adjust-! Adjust-! ment committee." The commit-j commit-j tee of St. George consists, of D. H. Morris, chairman. Joseph T ! Atktn and Edward R. Frei. Or ' the 8th day of March the com I mittees from Milford, Beaver, ! Iron and Washington met at ': Beaver with John M. McFarlane j as chairman and Mr. Miller, whc ' has been appointed general in-j in-j spector for Utah and representatives representa-tives from the Federal Land bank of Berkeley and one from Wash- ington D. C. At this gathering I the different committees were : instructed along the line of their . duties. The committees ar& to work : without compensation and are tc , act as advisors to the debtors and i creditors of the county. For : instance, where a farmer hap 1 incurred an indebtedness and hap ! secured the same with a mortgage: on his farm and is unable to mee , this obligation, it is proposed where agreeable tb the parties , involved, that they get togethei and. adjust their differences ir such a manner that the mortgag-; mortgag-; or will not be put out of busi-: busi-: ness and this policy will extend i to all kinds of indebtedness. Tr 1 illustrate, if a man owes a deb' by mortgage on his farm and h-I h-I to one man and secured the deb' has other indebtedness, if he car 1 arrange with the mortgagee so ' that he can get a loan from the ; government on his farm, thai ; he meet with his creditors and ; see if they can mutually agree : upon a settlement of all their j debt by dividing the money they I can borrow on the farm and I close all their accounts. This committee has no authority auth-ority to arbitrarily adjust matter' but they stand ready and willinp to assist in any manner thes-farm thes-farm debt problems.
