High School Day contest were: Music: Saxophone, Stanley Schnmtz, very superior; trombone, trom-bone, Gordon Swapp, superior; tuba, Mason Cottam, superior; clarinet, Stanley Schmutz, superior; super-ior; piano, Rena Neilson, excellent; excell-ent; violin, McKay Neilson, excellent; ex-cellent; brass ensemble, WJilford Cannon, Shirl Pitchforth, Wood-row Wood-row Dennett, and Gordon Swapp, superior; saxophone ensemble, Stanley and Ray Schmutz, and Miles Nelson, superior. Superior was first rating, and Excellent was second rating numbers. Wendell Wen-dell Snow, drum major, 3rd place. Art: Berns Swapp, first place; Annie McArthur, first place; lone DeMille, first place; Alone Wulf-enstein, Wulf-enstein, first place; and Evelyn Snow, second ,place. Cooking: Audrey Burgess, second sec-ond place; and Charlotte Bunting, Bunt-ing, third place. Clothing: Ina Miles, first place; and Evelyn Snow, second place. Woodwork: Clayton Prince, second place. Speaking: Clayton Prince, second' sec-ond' placw. Poultry: Rex Stratton and Rex Bleak, second place, as team. Rex Stratton, second high man. Crops judging: Team, Clayton and' Rex Prince, and Romain Sturzenegger, second place. Individual, In-dividual, ' Rex Prince, second place. Livestock judging: Team, third place; Schyler Everett and Irvin McArthur tied for fourth place. Typing: Team, Helen Hafen, Naomi Fordham, and Jennie Wadsworth., third place. Shorthand: Team, Irene Carter, Car-ter, Virginia Nay, and La Verda Whitehead, first place. Individual, Indivi-dual, Irene Carter, first place, and Wllma Bartman, first place. Drama: Third place. Interpretive reading: Adrian McArthur, third place. The regional high school track meet will be held at St. George, May 3. The .program for the assembly, Tuesday, was given by Mr. Beck, who conducted a Country Store. Thfo was a project of the phy siology class. Friday, the program for assembly assem-bly will be given by the foreign language department of the school. Tuesday there will be no assembly. as-sembly. That period will be postponed until Thursday, then the time will be spent in election of student body officers for next year. Mr. Bleak's band left for Pro-vo, Pro-vo, Wednesday, to compete in the State High School Day contests. |
