Show Chocolate: The Now Health Food?! There are a great number of renowned dieticians and physiologists who strongly disagree with the notion that all sweets, and in particular, parti-cular, chocolate, are harmful , to your daily diet. Physiologist Dr. William J. Evans of Tufts University points to the nutritional content of quality chocolate such as Lindt of Switzerland which is rich in protein, riboflavin, ri-boflavin, magnesium, phosphate, phos-phate, and calcium (milk chocolate) a proof of his claim that for the physically active individual, high quality chocolate can be healthful and beneficial. Furthermore, Dr. Evans suggests, the high content of carbohydrate in quality chocolate provides a constant con-stant supply of energy to the muscles during activity and is therefore an ideal source of sustained energy. The Swiss, in fact, have long known about the nutritive values of their quality chocolates. |
