J i; ' Ji - AA - j , THEDA MURRAY is presented with gifts at a retirement dinner in her honor at the Ump! iter Inn, March 24 by partners in Ser vice Insurance Agency: Doyle L. Huber (left), Ralph Preece and Phil Timothy. Mrs. Murray has worked with the agency for 22 years. Theda Murray retires after 22 years with Service Insurance Theda Murray was honored by Service Insurance Agency employees and their partners at a retirement dinner at the lamplighter Inn March 24. Mrs. Murray has worked for the company for 22 years During this time she has watched watch-ed it grow from two employees, herself and Ralph A. Preece, and one small office of-fice in the L'tah Motel to its ow n suite of offices on Second North and Vernal Avenue Preece was an insurance agent for several years before hiring Mrs Murray w hen he needed "part-time help with the paper work." She later became a full time employee and contiued with the company when it became Service Insurance In-surance Agency in lyt". Service Insurance Agency partners are now Doyle L. Huber, Phil Timothy and Preece and employees total ten Attending the dinner in honor of Mrs. Murray were several executives and their partners from Travelers Insurance Co of Salt Lake City. Kmplovecs of Service Ser-vice Insurance in Roosevelt were also in attendance. Isla Swam and Dixie Hacking, longtime long-time coffee-break friends of Mrs. Murray's, Mur-ray's, and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Harbison were special guests. Tributes w ere paid to Mrs Murray by-many by-many of the staff of Service Insurance, by Jim Blake of Travelers Insurance Co. and by her friends present. A pearl necklace was presented to Mrs. Murray by the office force at Service Ser-vice Insurance Agency. Ralph Preece gave her a bouquet of red roses saying she was a "loyal employee, who was always there." Many others present gave Mrs Murray niomentos of their years of work together. The evening's arrangements were made by Jamie Swett of Service Insurance In-surance Ralph Preece was the master of ceremonies Theda Murray is an active memlxT of the I-ady Lions Club and has served as its president. She has been president of the local Credit Women's International and was a regional officer for many years She is a memlx-r of Xi Alpha Xi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Mrs. Murray is a member of the LDS Church and has iH'en the ward organist in her ward for twenty years. She has written and presented numerous programs in the Vernal area. Mrs Murray is the wife of Lee Murray Mur-ray They are parents of three children: Dana, wife of Michael Sutton who lives in Bryan. Texas; Rand, who owns a television advertising agency in San Francisco. Calif.; and Kevin in his third year of law school at BYL'. They have two grandchildren who are both students at the University of Wyoming. When asked what she planned to do w ith her spare time now she was retiring. retir-ing. Mrs. Murray replied. "I'm not going go-ing to stay home and knit." |
