Show BLM to have Bookcliffs hearing The Bureau of Land Management is seeking input to the management of the Book Cliff Mountain area for the next ten years in a public meeting Tuesday, April 5, 7 p.m. at the Vernal district office. Mineral development in that area could mean more jobs for the Uintah Basin, but it could also result in fewer deer, elk and livestock on public ranges, contends the BLM. The purpose of the meeting is to allow the public to suggest possible solutions to nine management problems in the Bookcliff Resource Area. Some of the problems include mineral leasing, forage allocation, wildlife habitat and rights-of-way locations. The solutions that are presented will be used to develop an Environmental Impact Im-pact Statement and Resource Management Manage-ment Plan for the over one million acres of public land in the Bookcliff Resource Area.
