Cynthia went back to Provo following the meeting while Belinda stayed overnight with her parents'and returned to Provo the following day. Steve Hullinger gave his mission report at the Whiterocks branch. The Darron (Sonny) Redfoot funeral was held last week Thursday at 1 p.m. with a graveside service at John Harmes cemetery. The dinner was held at the community center in Whiterocks. Julian Redfoot of Towaoc, Colo., brother of Mrs. Stanford Cornpeach, attended the funeral. La Veil and Dixie Hardman drove to Orem last week for his stepfather's funeral. They stayed three days visiting friends and relatives. The Ruth Evans funeral was conducted con-ducted in the Naples Ward with burial in Highland Cemetery at Meeker, Colo. Shirley Ainge, cousin of Ruth Evans, conducted the funeral. . John Dickey and Kim Robb took a load of wood to Salt Lake last week. Loran and Zella Pike drove to Salt Lake for a two-day business trip. Eight head of elk were observed grazing graz-ing and leaping about near the Connie Pike residence. Darla Pike and her father, Donnie Murray, drove to Salt Lake City Saturday Satur-day for a combined visiting and shopping shopp-ing trip. Matt and Virginia Ferguson spent the past two and a half weeks following the sometimes elusive sun, as they spent 10 days in St. George playing golf and another week in Phoenix, Ariz., playing golf and visiting Virginia's brother, his wife and cousin, Roger and Arlene Mar-. Mar-. tin and Miriam Martin, who are spending the winter in Arizona, escaping from the severe Iowa weather. Matt's sister, Janet Ferguson, who also lives in Phoenix, entertained the Fergusons. Aaron and Myrtle Hansen drove to Provo last week to obtain nine in-' in-' struments for the beginning band made up of sixth graders. Also, they purchased purchas-ed 50 recorders for the fourth grade recorder band. They report that 50 children out of 95 are interested in learning lear-ning to play instruments. Shirley and Bernice Ainge and Ber-nice's Ber-nice's sister, Helen Peterson, of Duchesne, spent one day last week shopping shop-ping in Salt Lake City. Lee Anna and Mary Ella Arrowchis were home last weekend from BYU. Johnny Arrowchis spent last week in Salt Lake City at the POST school. Stan Hoopes drove the Vernal Junior High wrestling team, consisting of 40 boys, to Green River, Wyoming last Friday Fri-day for a wrestling match. The boys took second place. |
