Show r Tridell Lorna ITIcKee I Phone 247-2350 I Elementary school demolished Friday Men have worked this past week in alvaging and making preparations for ,e demolishing of the elementary school ouse in Tridell. At about 4 p.m. Friday fternoon, it was brought down by the ef-jrts ef-jrts of many men. A cable was secured round the building attached to Rondal lcKee's Cat. He pulled while Ray iaslem butted the sides with his backhoe elping to push in the walls. It was an in-resting in-resting sight to see it collapse and fall. The building was erected in 1924 with tudents first starting school in January 1925. It was built at a cost of approx-mately approx-mately $13,000. Students attended rades i through 8 until the year 1952 ;hen they were transported to Wiiterocks. A program commemorating the school ,as held Sunday afternoon. Helen Sim-nons Sim-nons compiled a history and gave it at hat time. Following this program, those .ho attended this school assembled in ront of it and had a group picture taken. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Goodrich went o the Salt Lake airport Saturday night 0 meet their grandson, Elder Ricky mon, who was just returning from ompleting his'LDS mission. Mr. and ,lrs. Goodrich spent Saturday night in iountiful with Mr. and 1 Mrs. Larry Joodrich. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Willis moved to Red iluff, Calif., Friday. The WiDis' return-id return-id a week ago from California and spent 1 week in Tridell preparing for their nove. Fern Bartlett, Tridell's Postmistress, rill be moving into her new post office Ionday. Mrs. Bartlett has had an addi-ion addi-ion built on the north side of her home hat will house the post office. A number of ladies from Tridell at-ended at-ended a kitchen shower at the Moon ke Building in Altamont Thursday for 3illie Sue Smith, the bride-to-be of Ricky erry. Billie Sue has been attending ichool at Snow College in Ephriam. The moling couple plan on getting married ?eb. 18 in the Provo Temple. |
