Show Discrimination Letter to the Editor: Last week the Rose Park Apartments in Vernal had a big ad stating they, had apartments for rent. Since 90 of our income in-come presently goes to rent I decided to see about renting one. The manager would not rent to us on the sole basis that we are not a married couple. She handed me a copy of the apartments "house rules," saying it was in the rules and there was nothing she could do about it. Even if I was to "read between the lines" I could not see where it stated you had to be married. In their ad they say they are an "equal housing opportunity" complex. If that is the case why is our wish not to get married mar-ried yet a reason to be discriminated against? Living together unmarried may be against certain religious and personal beliefs and that is fine! But I also have the right to my own beliefs. It makes me furious that in this day and age, with the high divorce rates and changing opinions, (not to mention the high unemployment rate of this area) that we should have to get married just to rent a low income apartment so that we might be able to make ends meet! In 1902 it railroad that was going to make County rich, but Mr. Moffat diedai did not get the railroad. Then for!:, it has been oil shale that will maw tah County rich, but the price oi dropping. I am sure the govern not going to come up with these d . of dollars for the oil shale develop' Taxpayers you are going to get of taxes, don't vote yourself mor . state and federal government ,i . care of that when they balaw budget.
