Show Grant awarded for Davis school sewer The Ashley Valley Water and Sewer District has been awarded an $800,000 grant and a S198.000 loan at 4.5 percent interest from the Community Impact Board. The money will be used to install sewer lines to the Davis Elementary School, now under construction. The money, according to Boyd Workman, public relations officer for the Sewer District, will replace some of the money originally allocated by the Environmental En-vironmental Protection Agency. The grant from the EPA included several projects in the Uintah Basin area, but money was never allocated, even though tentative plans had been made to do so. Workman said work will begin as soon as arrangements can be made. Most of the engineering is already completed. Now the jobs will be advertised for three weeks, then bids will be awarded. Due to the depressed economy, Workman thinks it is a good time to give the bid, since many companies are in need of work. Workman thinks there will be no problem pro-blem completing the project before the scheduled opening of the Davis School next fall. |
