McCurdy's vehicle then traveled into the east lane of traffic and struck a 1976 Monte Carlo v that was east-bound and driven by Barbara E. Smuin, 36, of Vernal. There were no injuries to the drivers and damages totaled $1,900. McCurdy was cited with driving . under the influence in-fluence of alcohol, Hamner said. A second accident sent a five-month infant to the hospital for minor injuries, Monday, Feb. 23 at 3:50 p.m. A 1977 V2 ton pickup driven by Allen Hazelbush, 20, of Vernal attempted a u-turn at 843 East Main. He didn't see a 1981 Toyota pickup driven by Valarie Morrison, 19, of Vernal who was driving on the inside lane and struck the Hazelbush vehicle. The accident resulted in $3,000 in damages. A five-month infant in the Morrison vehicle was transported to the Uintah County Hospital and was later released suffering minor bruises. Vernal Police also reported an accident ac-cident at 135 South and East Highway 40, last Thursday, Feb. 20. A 1966 Ford pickup driven by Elmer Ray Sum-merall, Sum-merall, 50, of Vernal attempted a left turn to 135 South off of Highway 40. He cut the turn too short and ran head-on into a 1979 Chevrolet pickup driven by Monte S. Furrh, 25, of Vernal, who was west-bound on 135 South, Hamner reported. Summerall suffered minor facial injuries and was transported to the hospital. Total damages were listed at $2,500 and no citations have been given. |
