Show Since 1944, the United States Food and Drug Administration Ad-ministration has mandated the use of a special test to establish the eye damage potential of consumer household products, medications, medi-cations, cosmetics, and toiletries. This test, known as the Draize test, requires the substance in question to be tried out on rabbits before be-fore it could possibly endanger en-danger humans.
