Show Jensen cub scout banquet JENSEN SPECIAL-The Jensen Ward Cub Scout held their annual banquet ban-quet Feb 19. The agenda of the evening was conducted by cubmaster George Turner. Special guests for the evening were Bishop Lyn Morrill and wife Tamera; Mr. and Mrs. Gawain Snow, Alta Winward, stake Primary president; presi-dent; and Nila Richards, stake cub scout director. The four guests were also the speakers of the affair and they highlighted on the importance of scouting and how working on scout achievements helped individuals better bet-ter prepare themselves for life, that families should set goals and work together to achieve these honors. We should care enough about our young people to see that each individual grows into adulthood prepared to be good citizens, marriage partners and good parents to their children, also we'd like to see each boy achieve the highest honor in scouting, to reach the rank of Eagle. When they are inclined and motivated to these heights, the chances of them going diverse is very rare. The boys advancing this month were: Adam Allison who was awarded his Webelos badge and athlete award; Don-ny Don-ny Trujillo, artist and athlete; Kyle Ruppe, Webelos badge; outdoorsman, artist, and athlete;. Shane Turner, Webelos badge, artist, scholar, athlete, swimming and sportsman. Every year we have a tradition to get the boys and their dads teamed up making mak-ing and decorating a cake to be auctioned auction-ed off after the banquet to replenish the self supporting cub program. This year the highest bid on a cake was made by Shane Turner and his dad, George, (or was it his mother?) the' cake was bid to $50.25 then turned back and bid on again at $18. A lot of preparation prepara-tion and fun is put into our cubbing program. pro-gram. The boys parents and committee are doing a great job. |
