Show Orchestra elects members for honors Outstanding orchestra students were chosen recently at competition at the Vernal Jr. High School.Fifty Orchestra 1 competitors were rated by a panel of judges according to beauty and clarity of tone, consistency of tempo and intonation. in-tonation. These young musicians, chosen as Students of the Month, will now assist with future playoffs in judging. At the end of the year they will receive a specially designed tee shirt, and will playoff in competition with other Student of the Month winners for the Student of the Year honor. That student will receive a trophy designating excellence ex-cellence in total performance. - Danielle Drollinger, daughter of Grant and Gayle Drollinger, Vernal, is a fifth grade student at Ashley Elementary. She loves to read, roller skate and ride horses. She is eagerly awaiting ski lessons at Park West. Danielle's violin teacher is Becky Allred. Jennifer Oleen is the daughter of Alan and Marsha Oleen. She is a second grader at Central Elementary. Her hobbies include horseback riding, fishing and being a Brownie Scout. She likes to play the violin because it is fun, and she likes music. Linda Hanberg is Jennifer's section teacher. Elisa Emery plays the cello. She is the daughter of Fran Emery, Vernal, and Dave Emery of St. George. She is in the third grade at Discovery School and likes to dance, play the piano and cello. She also likes to swim and participate par-ticipate in sports. The practice award for the month of November was awarded to Tiffany Adams, daughter of Mike and Penny Adams. She practiced a total of 29 hours. Tiffany is in the third grade at Maeser Elementary. She likes to swim, roller skate and ride horses. She likes violin, and wants to learn to play the piano.
