Show Highway patrol strives to reduce holiday accidents The Utah Highway Patrol reminds drivers of the upcoming Fourth of July holiday and Operation CARE (Combined (Com-bined Accident Reduction Effort). This program was very successful in the reduction of traffic fatalities in Utah over this past Memorial Day holiday. With this, program the cooperating states are unified in a comprehensive enforcement effort toward the high accident causation factors such as speed, drinking and driving, following too closely, etc. Traveling over the Fourth of July holiday motorists will notice that this enforcement effort will continue right across state lines as our surrounding western states, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming. Colorado and Arizona, all are committed in this effort to reduce holiday traffic fatalities. The Utah Highway Patrol plans to especially patrol high accident areas within the state by increasing the number of officers to the maximum available. It is essential for safety that drivers support the Utah Highway Patrol and the patrols of the surrounding states in this combined effort to reduce the holiday traffic fatality rate. |
