Show Wayne Pope wins muzzle loader shoot After a hot day of shooting, 23 muzzle loaders competed at the Black Powder Shoot last Saturday with Wayne Pope of Vernal coming out on top with a score of 157. The buckskinners shot three rounds from 25 yards at squirrel and crow targets and a reverse deer target. In the afternoon the muzzle loaders shot at five heads from 25 yards and six bulls eyes at 50 yards. They also shot at a gong from 100 and 200 yards. Many of the contestants wore handmade hand-made buckskin shirts and leggins, and were equipped with knives and hatchets. hat-chets. Other winners were Chad Crosby second with 141 points, J. Young, third with 137; Nash, fourth at 133; Herbert Troester, fifth at 128; and Bob Dickson, sixth at 126. Fifth place winner Herbert Troester, said he was very pleased with the shoot and is looking forward to a shoot next month.
