Show Vernal LaVon Wall Phone 789-0521 Frank Coutures attend retirement party in Provo Mr. and Mrs. Frank Couture traveled to Provo on Friday, July 18, to attend a retirement party for former Vernal resident, and Mountain States Telephone Manager, Delbert Brown, who retired after 40 years of service with the company. They also visited in Salt Lake City with friends. Mrs. Wes Robbins traveled to Craig, Colo., on Saturday, July 18 and visited several days with her brother, Mr. Stan Preece. While there she assisted in the home. Mr. Preece recently visited Vernal' for medical attention.'" : " ' Mr. and Mrs. Butch Boren and children Jeff. N'ancy and Becky of Morgan. Utah, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Freestone. Mrs. Boren was the former " Sandra Freestone. While here they attended the I'intah High School class of '60 reunion. Mrs. Mary Iau Burgin. of Longview. Texas, wife of the late John Burgin, former Vernal residents is a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Batty. Mrs. Burgin was a former teacher in the I'intah School District. She plans to stay in Vernal until August 7 visiting the Max Rassmussens and other '.friends. Mrs. Burgin recently returned from a trip to Canada and while enroute. she visited with Alton and Naomi Peterson in Idaho. York Godfrey, son of Lynne and Annette Batty Godfrey, West Virginia, and Paul Batty, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michale Batty of Riverton are spending their vacation time with their grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Batty. Troy and Doris Burton traveled to Salt Lake City Monday to visit their son Kim Burton and Mary Lou Burton and their family. Kim Burton teaches school in the Granite School District. Mr. and Mrs. Grant White, the former for-mer Florence Henderson, of Logan, Utah, were guests at the home of : Darrell and Norma Wardle over the ' weekend. While here they attended the Uintah High School Class of '30 reunion, and visited with the C.R. Henderson's, ' the Royal Henderson's and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hansen, the former Allene Calder and children Christen and Melinda. of Orem, visited at the home of Mrs. Tess Calder last week . Marsha Fox. Salt Lake City and Cindy Fox, a student at BYU, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Fox, during the Pioneer Day celebration. Marsha is a daughter to I,aurence and Alice and Cindy is a granddaughter. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Fox. Berkley, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Buzarde, .formerly Renee Henderson, and son Brett, from Jakarta. Indonesia, are spending the summer in Vernal and at their new-summer new-summer home in Flaming Gorge Acres. They plan to stay in the area for six weeks visiting with Renee's parents, theC.R. Henderson's and their daughter and her husband. Cliff and Linda Shimmin Grua and friends. Major and Mrs. Richard Barnett of Hallaman Air Base, Alamagordo. New Mexido. and two sons Michael and Wade, were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Royal Henderson last week. Mrs Bnrnett is the former Mary K. Henderson. They plan to continue to Rapid City. South Dakota, where they will visit with Major Barnett's parents. |
