Show Coming activities for the month of September: Dinners at the Golden Age Center every Monday at 12:30; Dinners every Wednesday at the Vernal Junior High School starting at 1; Social Security representative will be at the Golden Age Center Sept. 20; A Blood Pressure Clinic will be held Sept. 24, at 2: Sept 15 there will be a history trip to Brown's Park. Departure time will be at R a.m. from the Center. At the Friday night dance it was standing room only for the wedding rtnnrp nf Thplmp MrKpnna and Rnphpn Russell. The couple sponsored the dance for their many friends and relatives. Out-of-town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bertrand, Casper: Mr. and Mrs. Deloy Duncan. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Wilken and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Russell; Mr. and Mrs. Clair Duncan. Mr. and Mrs. Terry McKenna: Mr. and Mrs. Ted Olpin: Mr. and Mrs. Deloy Richens, and Mr. Fcklund. The couple is making their home near Ballard on the Whiterocks road. We wish them many years of happiness and thank them for the good time they showed everyone Friday night. We were thrilled to see Deloy Richens and Golden Winn back after a long illness. Both dancers looked good and we are hoping to see them back, now that they are gaining their strength back. At the close of the dance a cake and a signed card was presented to Wendell and Leola Freston as they will be entering en-tering the mission home Thursday. The cake was decorated with the Arizona Cactus as they will be serving their mission in the Holbrook area. Happy Birthday was sung to the following at the close of the dance; Charles Wahlin, Ezra Stewart, Sue Ann McKenna, Ralph and Pauline Walker and Doyle Lloyd. We would like to welcome Lola Aguilar back after her recent accident, where she received cracked ribs, she and Don are great at polka dancing. It was also learned during the dance that Bryant Roper was in the Uintah County Hospital and a card was also signed by the dancers and was waiting for him at 2:30 Saturday morning. Mr. Roper expressed ex-pressed his gratefulness for the thoughtfulness of the Friday night dancers. We hope to see him soon. The following dancers attended the farewell missionary meeting Sunday in Roosevelt for the Frestons: Mr. and Mrs. Hilliary Workman. Marvel Smuin, Mr. and Mrs. Newel Behunin, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Ainge, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Russell. Pearl Olivers, Beulah Pummell. Rachel Brough, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Curfew, Tiny Wilkins and Thora Mulford. Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Wamsley. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence paid tribute to the good clean wholesome dances that are being held in Vernal. Wednesday dinner at the VJHS had 72 attending the delicious dinner of Hamburger gravy over whipped potatoes. Monday dinner at the Golden Age Center was enjoyed by 103. Dorothy Peltier and Daun White entertained the group with several songs. Next Monday's Mon-day's dinner will include: Meatloaf. scalloped potatoes, beets, jello salad and green salad: and to top it off there will be pie and ice cream. After the dinner on Sept. 17 Steve Jennings will be at the Center to help answer any questions you may have on your current insurance policies, so bring your policy with you. Bingo was won by Nola McNeil for the week of August 27 and also the winner of the month. The winner for the week of Sept 4 was Lillian Westwood with five games, Edith Gale and Ben Slaugh tied for .second place both with four games. Happy birthday goes this week to Les Thacker Sept. 9; Mabel Stagg, Sept 11; Flva Eldredge, Sept. 13. Also happy birthday to anyone we may have missed on our birthday calendar. HAVE A GOOD WEEK! |
