Show Newly Formed Leo Club Will Receive Charter The newly formed Moan Leo Club will receive its official of-ficial charter at a special Charter Banquet to be hosted by tlie Moab Lions at the American Legion Hall Monday, Mon-day, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. The charter will be presented pre-sented by Lions District Governor Gov-ernor Maron Oveson of Pleasant Plea-sant Grove. Bill Meador will give the greeting address. According to Leo Committee Commit-tee Chairman Slim Mabery, this is the first Leo Club to be organized in the state of Utah. "The idea has really mushroomed," Mabery said, "and Lions from all over the state are attending the banquet ban-quet to learn how we did :t. They are also asking for help in organizing Leo Clubs in their communities,". Mabery stated. ... The banquet is being catered cater-ed by ' the American Legion Ladies Auxilary at ?3 per plate and is open to all interested in-terested persons whether they are affiliated with the Lioics Clubs or not. Parents of Leo members and prospective new members are encouraged to attend. Those planning to attend' at-tend' should contact Lien Slim Mabery at 259-6766 before Saturday morning, Feb. 23, for .reservations. Special presentations : will be made by the Price .and Montfcello Lions Clubs as well as by the Moab Lions. The Moab Leo Club, open to all boys and girls ages 15 through 20, was organized in January with 20 charter members. mem-bers. It now has a total membership mem-bership of 27. New members include Wendy Brownlie, Rotary Ro-tary exchange student from New Zealand; Kathy and Lonnie Hass, Becky Hayes, Alice McClatchey, Theresa Posey and Bcbby Velasquez, students at Grand County High School. Rodney Holder, Holiday Haven, Ha-ven, is Projects Chairman for the club and reports that several sev-eral community service projects pro-jects are in the planning sta- . ges. |
