The. approved figure was $20,000 more than was esti-. mated on the . advertised budget before the hearing, but according to Mayor Win-(fcird! Win-(fcird! Bunce, this was due only because of a contract setitUemertt with the new garbage gar-bage collection firm Which, received the contract for the year. At the iflimc the primary figures wore established estab-lished .only an estimated figure, of $40,000' could' be projected because the con-Ibratct con-Ibratct had not been finalized. The $20,000 addition to the figure was added after it had been fjlnailized. "This will create no budget problems, prob-lems, ibowever", said the Mayor, "as this money is paid by City residents using ,the service and is only collected col-lected by 'tjhe Cj'.tiy offices for disbursement through the contract." The bulk of revenues to Handle next year's budget will come from sales and property tax, along with the gross business license tax, the budget indicates. Mayor Bunce indicated slight disappointment in the public meeting on the budget bud-get which reflected no concern con-cern from the community. According to the Mayor, there were no visitors or interested interest-ed persons at the hearing so the budget was passed without so much as a question ques-tion in any area. |
