Show Wers notes from the Hanksville area . . . Mrs. Susan Wells will undergo major surgery this wook in Arizona. She and her husbund, La Var had flown to visit her mother and their duughtor when she became ill with a gall bladder attack. Clark Painting Company Com-pany of Salt Lake have been awarded the $133,750 apparent low bid to repaint the bridges over the Colorado Kiver and Dirty Devil River near Hite on Lake Powell. These bridges are located on Utah's Bicentennial Highway U-95. The project pro-ject will be completed in 60 days. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hansen visited her parents par-ents and sisters, The Reo Hunts, Lewis Wilcox's and Ted Morrisons en-route en-route home to Escalante after attending funeral services in Iowa for Tom's uncle. They were vacationing vaca-tioning in a Colorado resort when they received the news of the death. Mrs. Hansen is the former Trudy Hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Cooper and five children have rented the Dean Brian home north of town and he's employed here with Fulton Gas and Oil Company. Com-pany. The Boy Scout Court of Honor for Wayne County was held the 10th in Lyman. Attending from Hanksville was Tom Campbell, Committee Chairman; Mark Jarvis, Scoutmaster; Rae Lene Ekker, Primary President; Charles and Harriet Noyes (he is troop Committee member); Dirk and Selena Garber, Ann Lierd, Ethel Jackson and daughters, Deena Alvey and Joyce Peterson, Margaret Bul-lard Bul-lard and Ardell Noyes. Scouts in attendance were Darl Garber, Jake Bul-lard, Bul-lard, Dennis Lierd nd Derek Ekker who were awarded their 2nd class awards and merit badges. Troop member receiving most merit badges and skill awards was Derek Ekker. Older Scouts attending were Justin Ekker, Jasper Billie, Todd and Douglas Stewart. George Jackson was a-warded a-warded his Eagle Scout Wards which was presented present-ed by Mark Jarvis in special ceremonies and presented a Eagle Scarf by troop committee chairman, chair-man, Tom Campbell. George is the son of Dee and Ethel Jackson and resides in Cainville and is a member of Hanksville Scout Troop 588. Troop 589 from Bicknell was awarded the Top Dog Award. |
