No special clothing is required: Participants are encouraged to dance barefooted bare-footed or in tennis shoes and to wear comfortable, nonrestrictive clothing. Ensemble members and others in the Utah dance community have choreographed choreo-graphed and scored works to be featured in the one-fourth hour public concert on Tuesday. The company's opening number num-ber will be a half-hour collage of seven pieces, followed by an intermission and three additional . compositions. As with the community dance class, the concert's enjoyable sampling of modern dance subjects is designed to spark audience interest. Admission Admis-sion to the 8 p.m. performance will be $2.00 at the door. It's a concert for all ages, said Ms. Sprafka and Ms. Gaither, both ot whom have choreographed choreo-graphed works to be presented. Also contributing contribu-ting original compositions are Joan Woodbury, University of Utah faculty member and director of the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company; Loabelle Mangelson, also of the University's dance faculty and director of the newly formed University of Utah Performing Company; and Lorrie Keller, Dance Touring Tour-ing Ensemble member. Mr. Mangelson and Ms. Sprafka also composed sound scores for the production. First Security Bank of Utah, N.A., cooperated with the Southeastern Utah Fine Arts Guild and other organizations and individuals to finance the dance tour. According to Assistant Vice President and Manager of First Security's Moab office, Don W. Cook, the Dance Touring Ensemble will criss-cross the state to present similar programs to other communities. "After leaving Moab,''-said Moab,''-said Mr. Cook, "the Ensemble will present programs and classes in Mr. Pleasant, Ephraim, Park City and Salt Lake City." The tour has been organized by Ms. Sprafka and Ms Gaither with assistance from Ensemble members, choreographers and faculty of the University Univer-sity of Utah's Department of Modern Dance. |
