Show Murder victim identified by F.B.I. A body which was found near the Highway 163 Colorado River Bridge Sunday, Oct. 1 has been identified as being that of Roger Silas Bishop, 36, of Herkimer, New York. Bishop's body was discovered by three tourists hidden in the bushes near the river. His throat had been cut and skull crushed by a blow. Authorities believe that he was killed elsewhere and the body was later dumped in the bushes. Investigating officers estimated that Bishop had been dead two days prior to the body being found. The Monday following the discovery of the body a bloody sleeping bag was found in the same area. Bishop was identified by the FBI lab in Washington, D.C. from fingerprints taken when he joined the Marines in 1959 in Albany, N.Y. He is described as being 5 '7" in height, 138 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. He had no criminal record. Additional evidence has been sent to the FBI and local law enforcement agencies are continuing continu-ing the investigation which is under the direction of the Grand County Sheriff's Dept. |
