The Juab try for , extra point, however, failed fail-ed when the Moab line held, leaving Moab on the top end of a 8-6 lead. Robinson scored again in the second quarter, on a 12-yard run through left tackle a play that worked for the speedy Moab back all night. The Moab try for extra point was no good, leaving the score at half-time 14-6. Moab's quarterback, Greg Larsen, uncorked his passing attack following the half, and scored early on a throw to Jim Key. A trv for a kicked extra point failed, but Moab led 20-6. Shortly afterward, Moab's fullback, Dennis Dicker-son Dicker-son charged through the center of the line for 34 yards and another Moab touchdown. Kevin Peter son kicked the ball for the extra point, making the score 27-6 for the Red Devils. In the final quarter, with Coach Glen Richeson clearing the bench to give a whole host of Devil gridders game experience, exper-ience, Chad Donoghue raced into the end zone from the 12 yard line, giving Moab the final score of 33-6. The try for extra point was no good. Just before the end of the game, a Juab drive led to their second and final score of the evening, bringing the tally to 33-12. The try for a two-point conversion on a passing attempt failed when the pass was picked off by Carl May. The Red Devils were impressive in their win over Juab, appearing to be in control of the ball game from the very beginning. Juab was able to gain yardage through the middle of the Moab line only a time or two, finding it tough going against the front lineup of Terry Hunt, Billy Jackson, Bart Leavitt, Jeff Leonard and Mike Swasey. Juab tried continually all night to run the pitch-out end run which has been difficult all season for Moab to stop. At Nephi, however, defensive ends Brent Richeson and Curt Brewer managed to break up more than got away. With the last traveling game under their belts and two successive contests con-tests scheduled at home, Moab is looking forward to a Thursday night contest this week against the Manti Templars. Then on the following week, Moab ends regular season play against the Delta Rabbits. That game will be played on Friday, Oct. 27. . r M . .. t - i - - , - : - , - - j 1 ' : f --11 Moab's Chad Donoghue broke through for the final touchdown of the game, scampering into the end zone from the 12 yard line. |
