Show Services Held For Long Time Resident Funeral services were held Monday, October 9th, at 11 a.m. for Mrs. Mary Christ-ensen Christ-ensen Evans, 85, who passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 5th of natural causes. Mrs. Evans was born February Feb-ruary 21, 1887 to Christen-sen Christen-sen Lingo Christnesen and Ann Elizabeth Thompson at Muddy, Emery County, Utah. She married Thomas H. E-vans E-vans in the LDS Temple In-Salt In-Salt Lake City in 1906. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1962, and a" son Harold and a daughter Emma Glen. Mrs. Evans lived most of her life in Verdure and Monticello, where she was active in all LDS Church activities ac-tivities as long as her health permitted. She was a primary teacher for many years, sang in the ward choir, Relief Society teacher and was also active in the DUP and was a charter member. Mrs. Evans was a graudate of Snow Academy, majoring in Domestic Science. She spent many hours sewing for family and friends. She was "Aunt" Mary to all who knew and loved her. "Loyalty was her "Motto". During her life she was always loyal to friends, church, family and government. She tried to instill in-still in her family the need and importance of loyalty. The Evans home was a haven for young people, expecially grandchildren. She is survived by her son Donald G. Evans, Monticello; Mrs. Bert A. Warren, Monticello; Mon-ticello; .Mrs. Glen (Anna) Jones, Carbondale, Colorado; Mrs. Graydon (Edna) Martin, Mar-tin, Monticello; Mrs. Arthur (Madolvn) Knight, Moab; 23 Grandchildren; 48 Great Grandchildren; Gra-ndchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild. Attending from out of town: Tom Steele, Phoenix, Ariz.; Arthur Steele, Tempe, Ariz.; Gary Martin, Tucson, Ariz.; Mr. & Mrs. Wesley Jones, Farmington, N. Mex.; Mr. & Mrs. Loren Black, Farmington, Farm-ington, N. Mex.; Mr. & Mrs. Merald White and Children, moab; Mr. & Mrs. Ronald Ainge, Kearns; Mrs. Garold Beddoes, Payson; Mr. -Robert Knight and Helen Knight, Moab; Mrs. Morris Decker, 1- Mancos, Colo.; Mr. & Mrs. ' George Burnham & daughter, Cortez, Colo.; Mr. & Mrs. Glen Jones, Carbondale, Co.; Mr. & Mrs. Donald Lyman & children,.
