Show Road Commission Sets Moab Meet The State Road Commission Commis-sion of I'tah will ho'.i. us rocular meeting in Moab this Frid.iv. it was announced this week. The meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the City Council Chambers, and all members of the Commission, alor.s ith State staff members. District 4 re; resentatr.es and Hnrv C. Holland. The purpose of regional meetings such as the Moab meetinj. is to give local residents resi-dents an opportunity to meet with the Commission to discuss dis-cuss items they might like to bring to the attention of that policy-making board. Moab area residents, officials, offi-cials, and office seekers are invited to attend, stated Steve Lawson, information officer for the Commission. Along with regular agenda items to be discussed by the Commission, it is expected that other items of particu-! particu-! :r interest in Grand County r d San Juan County will also ue discussed fully. Mr. Law-son Law-son stated that it is expected that proposed reductions of speed limits on approaches to Moab will be fully discussed dis-cussed by the Commission, and by District 4 engineers who have been'conducting radar ra-dar checks during the past few weeks. Also to be reviewed during the meeting will be the condition condi-tion of roads in the two-county area following two weeks of heavy rains and flooding. U.S. Highway 163 south of Blanding received considerable consider-able flood damage, as well as U-95 and other State routes. Mr. Lawson stated that the Commission extends an open invitation to any and all persons per-sons who might liketoappear before the Commission Friday. Fri-day. The meeting is ordinarily ordinari-ly scheduled to last only a few hours, but the time limit will be extended as long as there are people who wish to meet with the Commissioners, Commission-ers, he said.
