Range Management Field Trip Draws 350 in Two-Day Run A total of 345 persons attended at-tended the joint summer field tour of the American Society of Range Management, Soil Conservation Society of America Am-erica and Utah Woolgrowers and Cattlemen. The first day's tour covered cov-ered the Range Creek area. Stops were made at Bruin Point, Therald Jensen Ranch Himonas Ranch and Wilcox Ranch. Soft drinks and coffee cof-fee were furnished the group by Mrs. Therald Jensen for lunch and Mr. and Mrs. Don Wilcox hasted the group for a 3 o'clock break. Mr. A. T. Fillingim of the Soil Conservation Conser-vation Service in Price was the first day's tourmaster. The second day's tour started at the Joe's Valley Marina on the Manti-LaSal National Forest. This day's tour, headed by Tourmaster Vaughn Francis of Ferron covered revegetation and watershed wa-tershed treatments in the North Dragon drainage and on the Ferron P.L. 5G6 project. pro-ject. . General Tour Chairman Jim Butler of Price stated this was a successful and well attended tour because of the wide range of interest and subjects covered. The State Presidents of the Utah Chapter of the American Ameri-can Society of Range Management. Mana-gement. Mr. Allen Adams, and Mr. Gordell Brown. State President of the Utah Chapter, Soil Conservation Society of America, attended the full tour. The group was entertained by the yodelling of Mr. Robert Rob-ert Baum. SCSA National Council member, at lunch time at the Jensen Ranch on the first , day's tour. At the evening barbecue by the Emery Em-ery County Sheriff's Posse, two tour members led th-? group in a songfest. |
