Scott Skidmore Being Transferred To Delta Highway Patrol District Trooper Scott Skidmore wiE be transferred to Delta, effective ef-fective August 31, according to a report by Sgt. Ralph Benson of the Utah Highway Patrol this week. Trooper Skidmore has been serving the Moab area as a Highway Patrolman for the past eight years. Sgt. Benson indicated that Skidmore was originally from the Delta area and that the transfer came at his own request. "He is one of the highest rated men in the state," he continued, "and we hate to see him go." During the week of August 18, the replacement will arrive ar-rive to take up residence in the Moab area. Melvin Schiff-man, Schiff-man, formerly working in the checking station at Mon-tacello, Mon-tacello, will be added to the list of troopers in. the area. Sgt, Benson indicated that Trooper Schiffman is not new to the area and has had some temporary road experience. exper-ience. He has worked at the checking station for the past two years. Two new men will be hired for the Monticello checking station position, which will make that a five-day week job. Serving in the checking station at the present time are Burt Giles, Dean Col-lard, Col-lard, and Lynn Mclnally. Patrolmen serving road duty in this area after Aug. 18 will include Kay Jewkes and BilMe Hunt of Green River; Ri-ver; Bruce Black, Ralph Benson and Melvin Schiffman Schiff-man of Moab; and Bob Lowe and Claude Lacy of Bland-ing. |
