Show Be Prepared! We thought we were for the coming Scout year, but due to conflicting schedules sched-ules of some working mothers our list of leaders lea-ders of two weeks ago is already outdated. Caroline Zemaitaitis will replace Carol Mc- Taggart ' as leader in Brownie Troop 570 and Carol will be her assistant. assis-tant. Sue Kehret will be Senior Advisor for Troop 190 which will meet in her home. Marty Benge and Shirley Shelton will be co-leaders for the Cadette Troop 110. There' has been a great need in the past for one person to head the "Special "Spe-cial Chairman" jobs and this year Carol Ames has joined the Service Team as our Special Chairman. She will be in charge of Calendar Sales, Cookie Sales and special appointed positions that come up during the year on short notice. Carol has shown her ability for this type of work and was our very successful 1972 Cookie Chairman and we would like to thank her for taking on this big job. She will also take over as Troop Consultant Consult-ant for Brownie and Junior Ju-nior troops. Junior Troop 285 under un-der Quen Smith has new duties this year at Helen M. Knight elementary school. The flag will now be put up and taken down each day by 3 Girl Scouts and they will have the responsibility of caring for the flag. Robin Hen-ningson's Hen-ningson's Junior Troop 666 will be taking on this job at Southeast Elementary. Elemen-tary. Jean Lea will be acting act-ing as Neighborhood Registrar Reg-istrar in the next few weeks. She will be helping help-ing each troop individually individu-ally to register new girls. Girl Scouts nationally have gone to the computer com-puter system and each girl will have an identification identi-fication number for easier eas-ier processing of records. rec-ords. You might think we are rushing the camping season sea-son a bit with a suggestion sugges-tion that you start thinking think-ing now about next summer's sum-mer's camp sessions, but now is the time to get started. Many mothers, friends and relatives don't know that there are such things as Camp Stamps. This is an item that has not been pushed in this area to full advantage ad-vantage and we would like to get this idea across. From each leader we have 5C, 10f! and 25(. stamps available to help girls save their money and help pay their way through summer camp. Do you have a neice or granddaughter that runs errands or does baby sitting for you. How about your daughter? Do you pay her regular rates as a baby sitter? If not how about some camp stamps as a reward. $1.00 will not buy much these days in the way of entertainment but over the months they will add up and maybe some girl's dream of going to camp will be realized. These can also be applied to Day Camp as well as to all established camping areas in Utah. |
